Buyer guide

Introduction

A nursery is bought in stages, and the stage decides the hardware. Nursery managers searching for nursery propagation equipment are usually trying to match a container, a medium or a chamber to the point the plant has reached, not to collect every plastic item in one line. This group covers nursery pots, root trainers, substrate and media, and nursery supplies. The supplies named here are the Hardening Chamber and the Clonal Growth Chamber. BLUSTAL is the agricultural equipment brand of Blue Stallion Equipments (P) Ltd., a Ludhiana manufacturer established in 2004. The company's quality-management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified. That certificate describes the company system, not a product mark on any bucket, channel, tower, chamber, pot or tray. The supply network includes 250+ dealers and distributors, and BLUSTAL also handles export supply to multiple countries. Which dealer, quantity, packing and documents apply to an order is confirmed on the enquiry.

The buying rule on this page is stage, then category, then confirmation. Early rooting of eucalyptus and poplar cuttings is the published job of the Clonal Growth Chamber. The move after rooting, so plants can adjust before transfer, is the published job of the Hardening Chamber. Containers for seedlings, growing-on and berry projects sit on the nursery pots category. Root trainers sit on their own category, and that category currently has to be read with care because configurations are confirmed rather than assumed. Substrate and media sit on their own category, to be chosen for the container and the stage.

This guide does not print a tray cell count, a cavity count, or a survival figure. Those numbers are not a substitute for the stage note you send. Share location, nursery area and crop or species. If the crop is eucalyptus or poplar clones, say so. If it is a horticultural seedling or an orchard liner, say so. The categories do not all serve the same stage, and a mixed sentence will produce a mixed bill.

What it is

Nursery and growing solutions, as a group, is the set of categories a propagation unit uses between cutting or seed and a plant that is ready to leave the nursery. It is not a single machine. The four places to open are nursery pots, root trainers, substrate and media, and nursery supplies. Hydroponic and aeroponic systems also exist in the wider catalogue. They are not the subject of this group page. A potato mini-tuber facility or a lettuce channel should be enquired on those groups, even if the same organisation runs a nursery.

Nursery supplies, on the current list, means the Hardening Chamber and the Clonal Growth Chamber. The clonal chamber is published as a controlled-environment unit for rooting eucalyptus and poplar stem cuttings. The published facilities around it include cladding for light and insulation, mist or fog, a double-door airlock, and benches or racks for trays. The hardening chamber is published as the transition after rooting, including for rooted cuttings that have been in high humidity, built as a shade or net house with partial weather protection, UV-stabilised shade net or insect-proof netting, and raised benches or ground beds. This page describes those roles. It does not publish a rooting figure, a loss figure, or a week-count you can paste into a tender as a guarantee. Open the nursery chamber supplies category to discuss which chamber stage belongs in your brief.

Nursery pots are a separate category, with published volumes of 2L, 4.5L and 7.5L, plus a Berry Pot of 35L. Those volumes are explained on the pots page. This group page only says that pot choice follows plant stage, and that berry projects confirm drainage and media with the pot. Root trainers are a separate category whose current product list must be confirmed. The published idea is a tray with vertical ribs and an open bottom, so roots are guided downward and air-pruned, which limits spiralling before transplant. No cavity count or cell volume is printed on this group page.

Substrate and media is the fill. Catalogue names already in that category include Coco Peat, Vermiculite, Potting Mix, Vermicompost, Neem Power Powder and Bone Meal. Which of those belongs at which stage is a nursery decision, confirmed against the container. Coco peat and vermiculite are the media most often discussed for tray and rooting work. The others are listed as media and amendments. This page does not assign a mix ratio, a pack size, or a result in the field. It tells you to name the stage and ask which listed medium the team would quote.

Who it is for

The buyers are commercial nurseries, forestry nurseries raising eucalyptus or poplar clones, horticulture nurseries, orchard nurseries preparing liners, contractors building a clonal block, and dealers who supply those nurseries. Forestry, horticulture and orchard audiences are already the readers of the root trainer category. Chamber buyers are already described around eucalyptus and poplar clonal work. A nursery propagation equipment list can include more than one of those audiences when the same site has more than one stage, but each stage should be a separate section of the bill.

A practical sequence is species or crop, then the stage you are equipping, then the category, then quantity. Reversing it, and asking for pots, trainers, media and both chambers in one adjective, produces a quotation nobody can install in order. If you are only hardening, do not let the clonal chamber ride along unexamined. If you are only filling pots, do not let a chamber ride along because the group name sounded broad. Dealers should send the stage their customers are actually buying for. Export buyers add destination and documents.

Read the quotation by category. Nursery pots, root trainers, substrate and media, and nursery supplies should not collapse into one line. Inside nursery supplies, the Hardening Chamber and the Clonal Growth Chamber should be separate lines if both are discussed. Labour, civil work, and freight are outside the manufactured scope unless the quotation includes them. Drawings, where a tender asks for them, should be requested against the chamber or the container that is actually being quoted.

Applications

Clonal rooting for eucalyptus and poplar

Open nursery supplies and name the Clonal Growth Chamber when the stage is rooting of eucalyptus or poplar stem cuttings. The published purpose is a controlled environment for that rooting: temperature, humidity and light are the conditions the product note says the chamber is there to provide, and the physical notes include cladding, mist or fog, an airlock entry, and benches or racks. What this guide will not do is turn those conditions into a set of numbers or into a rooting result. If your process sheet has set-points, attach the sheet and ask whether the listed chamber is quoted against it.

Chamber size follows the capacity you are planning and the area you have. The product note says sizes are taken against production capacity. Send the nursery area and the capacity you want considered, and ask for the current chamber scope. Do not invent a tray cell count to make the capacity look numeric. If trays are part of the workflow, say that trays are required and ask the team which tray, if any, is currently listed. A blank cell count is the correct state of this page.

Hardening before plants leave the protected stage

Open the same nursery supplies category and name the Hardening Chamber when rooted material needs a transition toward ambient conditions. The published account is specific about the risk of moving straight from a mist environment to the open, and specific about the chamber as a shade or net house with partial cover, benches or beds, and drainage in the floor or bed. Use that as the scope of the conversation. Do not add a survival percentage, a mortality percentage, or a promise of field performance. Adjustment before transfer is the job. A number on a slide is not part of this guide. For separate nursery beds watered by drip or sprinkler lines, the irrigation controllers range includes a timer for scheduled watering; it does not control the chamber climate.

Say whether the plants arriving at the chamber are eucalyptus, poplar, or another species. The published chamber text is written around eucalyptus and poplar clones. Another species may still be discussable, but it should be declared so the team is not quoting a clonal forestry chamber for a crop it has not been asked about. Shade, misting and the length of the transition are confirmation items if your nursery practice depends on them. They are not copied into this guide as fixed settings.

Containers and root trainers at the next stage

Once a plant needs a container, leave the chamber discussion and open the nursery pots category or the root trainers category. Pots are chosen by volume against stage: the 2L, 4.5L and 7.5L nursery pots, and the 35L berry pot, as published. Root trainers are chosen when the nursery wants the rib-and-open-bottom behaviour before transplant, for forestry, horticulture or orchard stock. The trainer category does not currently hand you a list of cavity counts. Ask what configurations, quantities and availability are current. Do not fill a tender cell with a cavity number this group has not listed.

A nursery that uses both pots and trainers should say which species goes into which. Orchard liners and forestry clones can share a site and still need different containers. Send them as two lines. If you expected a pro-tray with a cell count, say you need a tray confirmation and stop there. This guide will not supply the count.

Substrate and media for the container you chose

Media is quoted after the container or the chamber tray is identified. Coco Peat and Vermiculite are the names to start with for rooting and tray fill. Potting Mix, Vermicompost, Neem Power Powder and Bone Meal are also listed on the substrate and media category, and they should be requested by those names if you want them, not bundled as fertiliser. Say whether the medium is for a pot, a root trainer, or a chamber tray. The same name can be wrong for a different stage even when the bag looks similar.

Do not ask this page for a universal recipe. A blend your agronomist already uses can be attached as their specification. The quotation can then say whether the listed media can be supplied against that specification, or whether you should buy the named catalogue media and mix on site. Pack size and quantity are confirmed on the enquiry. They are not assumed from the nursery area alone.

How to choose

Name the propagation stage first

Write the stage in the first line: cutting preparation, rooting in a chamber, hardening, pot growing-on, root-trainer growing before transplant, or berry and container production. Then name the category that owns that stage. Clonal Growth Chamber and Hardening Chamber for the chamber stages. Nursery pots for volume-based containers. Root trainers for the ribbed, open-bottom tray idea. Substrate and media for the fill. A stage you cannot name is a sign to describe the plant's age in plain words and ask the team which category applies.

Location, area and crop travel with the stage. Area for a chamber is not the same figure as bench area for pots. If you only know the total nursery area, send it and mark the split as unknown. Species matters: eucalyptus and poplar are the published chamber crops. Other crops should be written as other crops.

Leave cell counts and outcome figures blank

Tray cell count, root-trainer cavity count and cell volume are not figures this group page will invent. If a form you are filling demands a number, ask the team for the current configuration and wait. Copying a count from another nursery's tray will not make it a BLUSTAL listing. The root trainer category, in particular, must be checked for what is actually available before a quantity is promised to your customer.

Outcome figures are in the same forbidden class on this page. Do not ask the quotation to state a survival percentage, a rooting percentage, or a field result. Ask it to state the equipment, the stage, and what is included. How the nursery manages the plants remains the nursery's practice. The equipment description can be accurate without borrowing a percentage from a different document.

Keep the bill split by category

Matching the stage to the category is how nursery propagation equipment stays purchasable. A single line that says complete nursery is not a bill. Split pots, trainers, media and chambers. Inside media, split the catalogue names. Inside chambers, split clonal growth and hardening. Then ask for included or excluded on trays, benches and any irrigation the chamber note treats as part of the workflow.

Dealers should keep their customers' stages visible, because a pot order and a chamber order do not share a lead time or a packing style by default. Export documents are added when the goods leave India. Domestic notes should say whether the dealer or the nursery receives the shipment. Specs that this page does not print are confirmed on that same enquiry, not guessed in the email.

Specifications and buyer checklist

Use the list so the group enquiry arrives already split. A missing cell count should stay missing until the team confirms a current tray or trainer. A missing species should not stay missing. Compare quotations by whether the stage, the category and the catalogue name agree.

Ask what is excluded. Chambers, pots and media are easy to blur. A clear exclusion is more useful than a broad inclusion you cannot unload.

  • Location of the nursery, and whether a dealer will receive the goods.
  • Nursery area, with chamber area and bench area separated if you know them.
  • Crop or species, including eucalyptus or poplar if the work is clonal.
  • Propagation stage: rooting, hardening, pot growing-on, trainer, or berry container.
  • Whether the Clonal Growth Chamber, the Hardening Chamber, or both, are in scope.
  • Pot volumes if you have already chosen among 2L, 4.5L, 7.5L and the 35L berry pot.
  • Root trainers requested only with a note that configuration must be confirmed.
  • Media names you want quoted from the substrate category, tied to a stage.
  • Any process sheet for chamber conditions, attached rather than rewritten as catalogue fact.
  • A statement that cell counts and outcome percentages are not to be invented to fill a form.
  • Export destination and documents, if the goods leave India.

Frequently asked questions

What sits inside this nursery group?

Four categories: nursery pots, root trainers, substrate and media, and nursery supplies. Nursery supplies on the current list are the Hardening Chamber and the Clonal Growth Chamber. Pots are the published volumes, including the berry pot. Media includes the named substrates and amendments. Root trainers are the ribbed, open-bottom idea, with configurations confirmed because a buyer should not assume a tray code is in stock.

Hydroponics and aeroponics are other groups. Do not use this page to specify a Dutch bucket, an NFT pyramid, or a potato mist facility.

How should a buyer choose among those categories?

By propagation stage. Rooting of eucalyptus and poplar cuttings points to the Clonal Growth Chamber. The transition after rooting points to the Hardening Chamber. A plant that needs a litre volume points to nursery pots. A transplant programme that wants roots guided downward and air-pruned points to root trainers. The fill points to substrate and media after the container is known.

If two stages are live on the same site, send two sections. The location can be shared. The hardware should not be blended.

Why is there no tray cell count on this page?

Because this guide will not invent one. Chamber notes in the wider catalogue talk about trays as part of a workflow. They are not repeated here as a cell number. Ask which tray, if any, is currently offered, and leave the count blank until that answer arrives.

The same restraint applies to root-trainer cavities and cell volumes. Confirm current configuration, quantity and availability. Do not borrow a count from a photograph of another brand.

Will the quotation state a survival or rooting result?

It should not, on the strength of this page. The chambers are described by their place in the workflow: controlled rooting, then a transition before transfer. A percentage is not part of that description here. If you need a performance schedule for a tender, ask the team what they will and will not sign, and do not draft the percentage yourself.

Equipment can still be itemised tightly. Role, inclusion and exclusion are the statements this enquiry is built to produce.

Can media be ordered without a container?

You can ask, but the useful brief names the stage and the container or chamber the medium will fill. Coco peat for a trainer and coco peat for a 35L berry pot are different quantities and may be different conversations. Name the catalogue media you want considered.

Amendments such as vermicompost, neem powder and bone meal should be separate lines if you want them. They are not automatically part of coco peat.

Request a quotation

Send location, nursery area and crop or species, and name the stage you are equipping. A nursery propagation equipment enquiry is ready to split when it says which of the four categories you need: pots, root trainers, substrate and media, or the chambers under nursery supplies. Ask for catalogue names on each line, ask for cell counts only as a confirmation, and do not request an outcome percentage. The reply should say what can be quoted now, what configuration is still open, and what belongs on a different group. Add dealer or site delivery, and add export documents if the shipment leaves India.

Share the project location, area and crop through the contact form so the Ludhiana team can discuss suitable products and supply requirements.
