Apple Trellising & Hail System

Reaching new heights in orchard efficiency. BLUSTAL engineers complete high-density apple trellising and anti-hail structures — posts, wires, anchors and protection netting — with the full range of orchard fixing hardware to install them.

The system

Built for high-density orchards and unpredictable weather

For over 20 years BLUSTAL (Blue Stallion Equipments) has manufactured smart-farming systems from Ludhiana, Punjab. Our apple trellising and anti-hail system enhances tree growth and fruit quality while protecting the crop from hail — trusted across the orchard belts of Himachal, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

Benefits for your orchard

01

Enhanced support for apple trees

Trees grow upright with optimal exposure to sunlight, promoting even fruit development and maximising yield.

02

Increased fruit quality

Ample spacing and air circulation reduce disease and fungal infection, leaving fewer blemishes and deformities.

03

Effective hail protection

The integrated anti-hail netting safeguards the crop from hailstorms and maintains a consistent harvest.

04

Minimised pesticide usage

Organised rows give better spray coverage, reducing the need for excessive pesticide and supporting sustainable management.

05

Improved harvesting efficiency

Workers navigate rows more effectively, making pruning and picking faster and reducing labour time and cost.

06

Long-term cost savings

Improved fruit quality, higher yield and reduced hail losses outweigh the initial investment for strong long-run ROI.

Trailing system

The Superspindel high-density design

For low-vigour varieties, the Superspindel system reaches up to 10,000 plants per hectare. Smaller plant size simplifies harvesting, pruning and treatment, and accelerates the orchard to full production capacity.

  • Pre-stressed posts up to 2.8 m above ground (more where hail or rain protection is needed).
  • Head posts typically 9×9.5 cm; intermediate posts 7×8 or 8×8.5 cm.
  • Post spacing set by plant height, production load and rootstock root development.
  • Spacer brackets around 80 cm from the ground organise fruiting-branch growth.

Cost-effective “flat-net” hail protection

The flat-net hail-protection structure is cost-effective and simple to construct, using pre-stressed concrete posts placed 8 metres apart. It is recommended for orchards with row spacing under 4 metres to avoid excessive weight load during hailstorms, and its opening and closing mechanism helps reduce labour costs.

The complete range of orchard fixing hardware. Each part links to its product page for specifications, sizes and enquiry.

Anchoring & foundations

5 parts

Ground anchors and base plates that hold end posts and tensioned wires against load.

Posts, hoods & plugs

4 parts

Caps and plugs that protect post tops and route wires cleanly over concrete, steel and bamboo posts.

Hooks & tensioning

5 parts

Tie-rod hooks, super hooks, collars and turn buckles to tension and maintain the trellis wires.

Wire clips & clamps

5 parts

Rope clips, zig-zag wire clips and U-clamps for secure wire-to-post and wire-to-wire connections.

Hail-net pins & joiners

3 parts

Pins and joiners that fix and connect anti-hail netting across the flat-net structure.

Plant support

3 parts

Plant ties and bands that train young trees to the wire without damaging the bark.

Wire & rope

GI wire & galvanized wire ropes

High-tensile hot-dip galvanized GI wire

Ideal for high-density apple hail-net and trellising systems — easy to install, high strength, low elongation and a long service life across many harvests.
